This summer the installation of the facades in Concert and Conference Center began. The façade is produced in China by Lingyun. Lingyun’s specialist came to Iceland to supervise the façade task which is extremely complicated. The facade is predesigned by Ólafur Elíasson together with Henning Larsen Architehts but Lingyuns designers do finish the designing part. It is worth mentioning that the technical drawings surrounding the façade alone, are estimated to be 6000.

The inspiration of the façade is linked to the dramatic Icelandic nature along with the northern lights and consists of crystalline lattice of glass and steel.

The façade task is estimated to take 18 months and will be finished in the fall 2010.
