27.08.2007 IPC receives Mosfellsbaer Environmental Committee award for 2007
The Mosfellsbaer Environmental Committee selected Iceland Prime Contractor as the recipient of this year’s environmental award for the neat and attractive landscaping and tasteful overall appearance of its construction project at Thrastarhöfdi Cape in Mosfellsbaer.
The award-winning project includes lots number 1-3, 2, 5, and 4-6, the site of four three-storey multiple-family dwellings containing a total of 60 apartments. Construction began in the fall of 2004 and was completed in October 2006.
The parking lots are paved, and the walkways and verandas are paved with stone and partially equipped with snow-melting pipes. Sod has been laid on the grounds, with hedges planted at the boundaries and on privately owned sections. The aim of the design of the complex was to a create apartment cluster of maximum utility and efficiency that will meet the needs of residents while retaining an attractive and co-ordinated appearance. This award illustrates how successful the Company was in achieving those objectives.
The buildings were designed by ASK Architects, and Landslag ehf. carried out the landscape design.
