Reykjavik Concert and Conference Centre

On January 12th 2007 the first concrete was casted in the Concert and Conference Centre. Toward the end of November 2009 the plan is to finish the concrete work and put all the effort towards finishing the interior work. Because of this turning point and along with reaching the milestone of hoisting the last steel beam on the roof of the building the owner of the project Portus an Austurhöfn held a ceremony party last week.

The Minister of Education, the Mayor of Reykjavík along with ÍAV’s employees where invited to the ceremony. The ceremony was held in the main concert hall where up to 1800 guests can be seated. Musician’s from the Icelandic Symphony Orchestra took the opportunity and played some music and yet the acoustics were great.
