The Concert and Conference Centre at Austurhöfn has been given the name Harpa. This was made public at an official ceremony in the Centre to day. A ten year old girl, Harpa Karen Antonsdóttir gave the house its name. A competition for the name resulted in several thousand suggestions from whichthis one was selected.

Sammi’s Big Band played for the guests who also got hot chocolate and “kleinur”. The ceremony was attended by quite a number of people, among these the Mayor of Reykjavík, the Minister of Education as well as all IAV’s employees on site.
