Hotel Reykjavik Centrum
The Hotel Reykjavik Centrum is in the heart of the city. It is literarily built on old foundations.
The hotel is placed in a renovated old building. Adalstraeti 16 is the oldest part of the building, built 1764. On each side of the building new buildings were built that are replicas of old famous buildings in Reykjavik, Fjalarkotturinn and Uppsalir. The hotel is in these three buildings and connecting buildings and the look of these buildings is taken from buildings in Reykjavik from around 1900. When building the hotel some old ruins were found in the foundations from the time Iceland was first discovered.
IAV did all the work on these buildings both new and old.
