The Icelandic Road and Coastal Administration (IRCA) - New Headquarters

IAV build new headquarters for the Road Administration at Suðurhraun 3 in Gardabaer. The project owner is Reginn but they were chosen from many in contest that FSR Government Construction Contracting Agency handled for this projcet.

The current building at Suðurhraun 3 will be partially demolished and partially renovated. A 3,500m2 office building is planned, which will be on three floors with a courtyard as well as 2,500m2 of storage space. Housing for other activities will be restored. The housing will be insulated on the outside and clad with corrugated aluminum and timber panel in a courtyard in the middle. Interior will be finished with office facilities for approx. 160 people, electronic workshop, laboratory and storage facilities.

The preliminary draft can be seen with attached images. It will be based on a needs analysis for the new Road Administration's premises, which was prepared by the Road Administration's staff in consultation with the FSR.
