101 Skuggi – phase 2

Iceland Prime Contractor and 101 Skuggahverfi have signed a collaboration agreement concerning the construction of the second phase of the Skuggahverfi neighbourhood in central Reykjavík.

Construction began in mid-December 2006. Five residential buildings with 97 apartments will be built on the site, which is bounded by Skúlagata Street, Frakkastígur Lane, Lindargata Street, and Vatnsstígur Lane. The highest of the buildings — a 63-metre, 19-storey tower — will stand next to Vatnsstígur Lane. Two smaller buildings will also be on that street, one eight storeys high and the other three storeys. On Lindargata Street will be a three-storey building and an 11-storey building.

The entire apartment complex will be linked below the ground by means of a three-storey subterranean parking garage that will contain over 250 parking spaces in the second and third phases. In accordance with contractual agreement, completion is scheduled for October 2008. Project managers are Gudmundur Karl Marinósson and Heidar Ásgeirsson, and construction manager is Oddur H. Oddsson.
