IAV and Marti wins a contract over 500 million NOK
The Swiss company Marti and the Icelandic construction company IAV have jointly secured the contract for construction of the 5.8 km long tunnel under Nordnesfjellet in Kåfjorddalen municipality.

IAV will be the project constructor, which consists of factory building, furnace house, and various construction on the factory ground. Verkís is working with ÍAV on the project.
IAV has begun construction of the expansion of Leif Eiriksson airport terminal. The project consist of earthwork, erection of steel structure, exterior finishing as well as installation of elevators and escalators.
In March an agreement was signed between ÍAV and Iceeigna (part of Icelandair Group) for the construction of building of flight simulator for the training of Icelandair pilots.
Construction of prison in Hólmsheiði is progressing well. The camp site installation is in full swing, two building cranes have been erected at project site. Thermal heating has been connected to the office- , canteen- and the workers facilities.
Last week the tunnel workers in Snekkestad Norwegian reached the goal of "breakthrough" which means they reached daylight at the southern end of a the tunnel, but last November the breakthrough was reached in the northern part of the tunnel.
Friday January 31st., IAV hf and Ministry of the Interior signed a contract for the construction of a prison on Hólmsheiði. The contract covers the construction that is the about 3,600 m² in size with all fixed equipment along with finishing the plot around the prison.
