Concert and Conference Centre (CCC) construction well underway
Construction of the Concert and Conference Centre (CCC) has progressed very well in recent weeks. In April some 5,400 m2 of moulds have been manufactured, as well as 2,000 m2 of trapezoidal plates, 1,400 m3 of concrete, 250 tonnes of concrete reinforcing steel, and 150 tonnes of construction steel. The casting of the building’s second storey, on which begin three of the main halls in the building, is well underway. The casting of the third storey has begun as well, and the interior finishing and finishing of plumbing in the basement are proceeding at a brisk pace. The first representatives of the Chinese company Lingyun have arrived at the construction site and have begun the preparatory work in advance of the installation of the glass shell for the building. At present, some 220 employees are at work in the East Harbour area, and work is carried out 22 hours a day in two shifts. Also in progress is the groundwork for the parking basement to the south of the building. The casting of the parking facility is scheduled to begin this summer.
