Construction of Iceland’s highest apartment tower close to completion
The second construction phase in Skuggi will soon come to an end. This phase started late 2006 so it has been worked on for over three years. The original plan included further construction which has now been postponed.
The second phase includes five apartment buildings with 97 flats. The highest tower is 19 stories and rises 68 meters above sea level and is therefore the highest residential building in Iceland.
The outer façade of the buildings is at it’s final stage and most of the buildings are taking on their final shape as seen here below. Only five flats out of 97 have been fitted internally and the rest is unclear.
The main quantities are: 12.500 m3 concrete, 5.100 m2 of windows, 2.800 m2 stone tiles, and 2.600 m2 of other external siding.
