Elegant multiple-family dwelling at the seaside
Iceland Prime Contractor has put two new multi-family dwellings on the market, the first two of four that the Company is building on the north bank of the harbour in the Reykjavík suburb of Hafnarfjördur. The new apartments face south in a splendid location by the seaside, within easy walking distance of the centre of Hafnarfjördur. The buildings are four to five storeys high, with an elevator leading down to a joint parking basement with one parking space designated for each flat. They will be elegantly clad with low-maintenance aluminium siding and hardwood, and the windows will be constructed of wood and clad with aluminium. The apartments will be delivered fully finished, with parquet on the floors and with tiled floors in the bathrooms and laundry rooms.
The buildings were designed and the drawings rendered by the architecture firm Batteríid. The apartments will be large and bright, with windows extending to the floor in order to let in more light. The ceilings are also higher than is customary in residential properties, and various other details have been added to enhance residents’ safety and comfort, such as heated double-layer floors and soundproofing. There are also a video-enabled door phone, a fire alarm system, and a ventilation system, as well as snow-melting pipes beneath the walkways. Most of the apartments will feature two balconies with windscreens. The interior fixtures will be veneered, and residents will be able to choose from among three types of wood finishing. The apartments will contain excellent-quality appliances with a brushed-steel finish. The lots are designed and landscaped with an eye to utility and a tidy appearance. On the roof of the parking basement is a common yard with a playground area, park benches, and a mini-golf course.
