IPC receives award from Kópavogur Environmental Council
Iceland Prime Contractor has received the 2007 award from the Kópavogur Environmental Council for the finishing and landscaping of the buildings and grounds at Ásakór Choir 2-4. Construction began in September 2005 and was complete by March 2007. Ásakór Choir 2-4 is a three-storey, 18-unit residential building with an elevator and a parking garage. The buildings contain three- and four-room flats, all with private entrances.
Ásakór Choir 2-4 is a striking example of tasteful finishing and a professional touch. The building itself is attractive and makes intelligent use of the possibilities offered by the lot, as it stands on a slope, and the basement parking garage offsets the difference is height to a degree. From the ground floor, the slope is equalised with grass and plantings, which form a sunny yet sheltered dell. The landscape design of the boundary area between the lot and the approach to it aims particularly at creating shelter and a warm, inviting atmosphere.
Ásakór Choir 2-4 was designed by ASK Architects. Landslag ehf. carried out the landscape design.
