IPC subsidises schools in the Seychelles
Iceland Prime Contractor is the primary sponsor of the project “Computerisation of Seychelles primary schools,” which has been underway for some two years. Numerous other parties have supported the project or lent other assistance in order to make it a success. The installation of computers is complete in 19 of the islands’ 23 primary schools. By the end of 2007 the project will be complete and all 23 schools equipped with computers.
As a supplement to the project, Iceland Prime Contractor gave the islands’ technical school, Seychelles Institute of Technology (SIT), Hewlett Packard drafting equipment consisting of an HP DesignJet 450C plotter and an HP Compaq DC7100 workstation, together with the software that the students need to send their drawings to print.
IPC representative Erik Ágústsson presented the equipment to the school principal, Mr. Rassool, at a ceremony attended by the Primesecretary of Education, Madame Simone, and the school’s students and faculty.
